2 Day Tour: Fairytale Castles of Bavaria

Ensures you enjoy Bavaria’s fairytale castles at a comfortable pace, with time to savour the scenery and history that make these sites so iconic.
OVERVIEW
Cross from Alsace into the heart of Bavaria to explore two fairytale castles over two unhurried days. Start at Hohenzollern Castle, perched nearly 1 000 m above the Swabian Alb and rebuilt in neo‑Gothic grandeur by the Prussian crown prince. Amid battlements and the 15th‑century St Michael’s Chapel, you’ll learn how this fortress symbolised royal power. After a scenic drive and an overnight in the alpine town of Füssen, day two brings you to King Ludwig II’s Neuschwanstein Castle, perched on a rock ledge above the Pöllat Gorge near Füssen. Although it was never finished, its towers, ornate interiors and mountain setting make this romantic palace a storybook finale to your adventure.
